Shadows is owned by AUSA - by the students, for the students. All are welcome - as long as you are over 18 (and have ID), You need not be a member of AUSA - although, we recommend it!

It’s a beautiful thing when any relationship lasts 40 years, and Shadows bar has been nurturing the student body of the University of Auckland for several generations now. The birthplace of just as many good ideas as bad ones, a jug at Shadows is a rite of passage akin to donning a graduation robe. 

OPENING HOURS

In-semester:

Monday-Friday: 12pm-late

Saturday: Open for events only

Out-semester:

Wednesday + Friday: 5pm-late

Saturday: Open for events only

Closed: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

(we can make exceptions for events - hit us up!)

We do have plenty of space, but things book up fast. Get in early.
